We believe the Bible is the written word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit and without error in the original manuscripts. The Bible is the revelation of God’s truth and in infallible and authoritative in all matters of faith and practice.
We believe in the Holy Trinity. There is one God, who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
We believe that all are sinners and totally unable to save themselves from God’s displeasure, except by His mercy.
We believe that salvation is by God alone, as He sovereignly chooses those He will save. We believe His choice is based on His grace, not on any human individual’s merit or foreseen faith.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, who through His perfect life and sacrificial death atoned for the sins of all who will trust in Him, alone, for salvation.
We believe that God is gracious and faithful to His people not simply as individuals but as families in successive generations according to His Covenantal promises.
We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells God’s people and gives them the strength and wisdom to trust Christ and follow Him.
We believe that Jesus will return bodily and visibly, to judge all mankind and to receive His people unto Himself.
We believe that all aspects of our lives are to be lived to the glory of God under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

Oak Community Church (PCA) has been established as a local body of the Church for the purpose of:

  • reaching out to the lost and needy through word and deed, beginning in our local community and reaching around the world.
  • nurturing one another through teaching, equipping one another for service and making disciples of all who come to know salvation through the saving grace of Jesus Christ.
  • building the body of the Church of Jesus Christ through regular worship, prayer, fellowship and observing the sacraments.

Oak Community Church, a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America, is Evangelical and Reformed.
By Evangelical, we mean that we emphasize the gospel (the good news of salvation) through faith in Jesus Christ.
By Reformed, we mean that we are connected to the teachings of the historic church and the doctrinal beliefs recovered by the Reformation. These doctrinal beliefs are expressed in the Westminster Confession of Faith with the Larger and Shorter Catechisms and are an excellent summary of the Bible’s teaching but they, like all human documents, are always subject to and subordinate to God’s Holy Scriptures.

In November of 2021 we purchased a new facility at 10760 Dorchester Rd, Summerville, SC 29485 and we moved into it in May of 2023. We encourage you to come and join us for worship on Sundays at 9:30am.

The Bible
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God and that it should be the foundation for all of our life, faith, and worship. The Bible teaches us that our purpose in life is to love the LORD our God with all our heart, with all our soul, and with all our mind and our neighbors as ourselves.
The Gospel
We believe that our first calling is to share the Gospel. Our greatest desire is to preach Christ crucified for sinners and to tell people that through faith in Jesus they can obtain forgiveness of sin, reconciliation with their heavenly Father, peace, and eternal life.
Worship
We believe God teaches us how to joyfully worship Him in the Bible, and that His instructions are all we need. At OCC we seek to celebrate, in a spirit of love, adoration, and reverence, worship that is purposely simple and biblical. The heart of our worship is the preaching of the Word of God, prayer, the singing of praise and the celebration of the sacraments.
Fellowship
We take seriously Christ’s saying that the world would know we are His disciples if we truly love one another. At OCC we are dedicated to building up a family of faith that loves, prays for, encourages, and supports all of it members.
Teaching
We believe that it is very important that all of God’s people of every age be constantly growing in grace and the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are serious about studying the Bible and the great doctrines of the Reformed Faith that it teaches.
Families
We believe in building strong families that are founded on the solid rock of Jesus Christ, and not shifting sand. In a world that daily seeks to tear families apart and send children down pathways that will lead to pain and destruction, it is our desire that the marriages of our members would always be growing closer and stronger and that our children would be brought up in the training and admonition of the Lord.
